- Safer Shorelines has launched a “Teach the Teacher” program to provide scholarships to 1000 swimming teachers worldwide. This program is carried out in cooperation with SSI and national swimming organizations.
- The main goal of the program is to prevent drowning, which is the most common cause of death in children aged 1-5 years.
- The “1000 swimming instructors” initiative aims to guarantee 10,000 children free swimming lessons. Each participant undertakes to teach 10 children to swim free of charge within 2 years.
- There are several ways to become part of the program, including signing up as a partner, motivating employees to become swim instructors, or applying for a scholarship to help with training costs.
